it's not quite motivated by the nightmare mess that is the dnd OGL, but since i've been meaning to for a while i did make an effort yesterday to learn how to play AGE, namely Fantasy AGE/Dragon Age rpg. while i will want to probably come up with my own playable races (Fantasy AGE only comes with 6 races out of the box) i think the three class system is actually pretty neat and creates a stronger starting point for any character and then create their own development path based on how their character grows over the course of the campaign narrative.
i'll still need to teach a few of my friends on how to play it but i think with pre-existing dnd knowledge the transition over could be pretty simple to do.
