sometimes i stare at other artist's styles and wonder what was their piece of media that really jumpstarted their art style. not in the sense of "i like this thing i'm going to make a lot of art for it because i'm inspired by it" but the "i'm like 13 years old and i haven't fully learned how to render human bodies yet and i find the way this piece of media does it very appealing so i want to emulate that."
i guarantee that every artist has one (and i have two) but everyone's are buried under years of training but if you knew the "origin" point of their art style it'd be very obvious when you looked at it the style they draw today.
