about 15 years ago i came out as a teenager, which officially means i've identified as trans longer than i haven't. every year since then has come up with ups and downs, but at least in terms with my comfort with myself and my identity it's been better and better every year. 15 years is a long time and with that comes with the fact i've had the blessing of seeing so many of my friends and peers also transition over the years and find peace with themselves and their identity. i went from being the only trans person i knew irl to being one of a bunch of my new brothers, sisters, and siblings. there's a lot of comfort to be had in a wider community of people that are accepting of you and are available to help guide you toward your best self. i didn't have that when i came out, making the early years of my transition a wild and weird time, so being able to be here and at the lowest possible rung just be an example of what living to your fullest in terms of your gender identity can be, means a lot.
i can't wait to be out for 20, 30, 50 years and watch my family just continue to grow, occupied by people that have found how to be themselves and people that swear to support us no matter what. happy trans day of visibility, i'm so glad that you're all here with me.
happy tdov part 2, i made a tiny trans flag
