LMAO @ presuming that no age in bio means <18

I don't have my age in my bio because I'm fuckin old and y'all don't need to know HOW old

DecayWTF
@DecayWTF

why the fuck would you put your age or any other such identifying information in your bio. when did we start telling the internet all of our business.

@JhoiraArtificer

I genuinely feel like no age in bio is a 25+ thing, because we were raised to not give out that information

I do it as a courtesy because I have zoomer energy sometimes. I was listing my age mostly because given the work I did in anime circles, I've had more than a couple of young queers find me "inspirational" or something like a role model and I really wanted to keep that parasocial relationship professional in those cases.

Though, honestly, since leaving Twitter, the need to warn people I'm not a terminally online horny 20-something is less and less an issue, at least on Cohost.....

contemplates

IS THAT WHY THE BLUESKY SCENE IS SO FUCKING EXHAUSTING? IS IT THE PERPETUAL SEEKING OF ATTENTION AND AFFIRMATION (mostly through nudes and relentless flirting) THAT IS ONLY JUST ASKING FOR ONE MAJOR SCANDAL/DRAMA TO TAKE OUT HALF THE QUEER SCENE THERE THE REASON I JUST CANNOT VIBE WITH THE IDEA THAT FAT COCK FRIDAY IS A THING?

i have been out for a good 15+ years now but i never had a scene. is this why i still feel like a useless babyqueer two months into coming out after all this time

additional lmao (as I believe the kids still say) at the idea that a stated age in a bio means…uh, anything.

it's the "putting 'NO COPYWRITE INTENDED' in the description of a clearly pirated YouTube video" of social media.

Yeah.

Like, I didn't even make it through college before "oh we're both queers!!!" stopped being enough to be friends with someone or find them novel.

It's not that I can't interact with minors, it's not that I can't interact with young adults in general. I can, and sure, in a shared interest space, that's fine. But if we're just talking about general conversation, I'm... not gonna drift to younger spaces. I'm exhausted of seeing the same things get re-litigated because a new generation finally encountered them and thinks they're the first group to ever Be Queer Online.
