im v computer-comfy . no prob. but mobile phones? scary demon devices. idk how to use them. even texting is hard for me (physically mostly).

what apps / software / whatever do folks recommend for managing downloaded mp3 files? Main reason I'm still tempted by spotify is for its mobile interface . If i had a way to make playlists of downloaded songs then i wouldnt give a shit about spotify.
Also idk how to get mp3 files onto my phone w/o using an app to buy them there. I hate buying thigns on my phone (aforementioned anxiety & physical problems). plus ill prob pirate a lot .

Ive heard tho that apple music or whatever, they can remove stuff from their library even if you buy it ? idk.

im looking for an app / software for phone (i have an old iPhone right now, might swap to fairphone if i cant get another handmedown) that can play mp3s on the phone, ideally organise into playlists , & DOES NOT have its own internal "library" in whic it can remove things even if you bought them . if I can get mp3s from computer to this app that would be even better.)

Do I just set up the mp3 player i got.? Reluctant to since I would then worry about losing additional items / playing phone volume out loud on accident because headphones are in the mp3 player.

thank u from my multiple disabled ass .

(side note, any good music-playlist things for linux ? just swapped to linux-only few months back)

in reply to @osedax's post:

i use foobar2000 iphone app. it's very simple and straightforward and has basic categories for the music (sort by artist/album/playlist etc) and won't change anything. i do have to use itunes fileshare method to get music in there because i have a windows laptop and my iphone won't play nice, but that is also easy. i drag the folders of my downloaded mp3s/flac files from my computer into foobar2000 so it never really touches itunes itself. zero bullshit.

ultimately i've just gone with getting bandcamp . If spotify charges whatever-amount / month, thats money spent anyway .

I tried to use foobar2000 , I am sure it works well but using linux threw a wrench in the mix.

Im not out of money for basic needs (yet) , hopefully should get a job too, so paying directly on bandcamp should not be a problem .
