i don't think it's related. I saw a tweet reply related to the new Marcia B. blogpost about D&D 2024. It argued that the charisma rolls and (I think they're called) reaction tables don't count as social mechanics. And like, I think they are crude or simple social mechanics, but they're still game tools to enhance or enchant social relationships in play. So if those don't count, I don't really give a shit about what that person think does!
