I've been thinking about bringing this over from the bird place, both as a way to engage with the community here and also find a few new folks to follow-- certainly not my idea originally, but I'd love to see the tradition continue!
So let's start with an easy one:

What's the story behind your WoL's name?
In the case of my main WoL, Naran Gharl, It's Stupider Than You Think™! Extremely long story short, I decided more or less as a joke to have an Au Ra Noctis Lucis Caelum as an alt, but I'm a sucker for canon naming conventions, and I went with an appropriate Xaela name that came as close to "Noct Gar" as I could get, lol. Then I got entirely too attached and intensely expanded the Lore around him, so now he is my main.
In-universe, he dropped into Eorzea when he went into the Crystal on Eos. For a while he was bumbling around trying to figure out a.) where the f he was, b.) where the f everyone else was, and c.) why the f he was like half dragon all of a sudden-- all while accidentally getting pulled into Eorzea's affairs, since he just can't help but help. He adopted the pseudonym largely just as a precautionary measure, and to fit in a little more. Now, though... he's almost more used to it than his real name. >>
(Also, Naran means "star", which was a happy coincidence :D)
