Today is the birthday of Sir #ArthurConanDoyle, and consequently the day celebrates the creation of his most famous character, the consulting detective #SherlockHolmes. This #ANSIart illustration of the most famous denizen of 221B Baker Street was drawn by AdeptApril.

dying detective (DYIN) (from last bow) is so funny to me like doyle killed off holmes, distressing many fans. brought him back after a few years saying he just faked his death. years later publishes a story where holmes fakes dying AGAIN.

but on a watsonian level it's scary like. DYIN seems to be set during watson's marriage to mary. so reichenbach was holmes' second death/near-death. during the hiatus what if it did cross watson's mind that holmes was just hiding somewhere. what if watson had to shake away the thought over and over again for three years, and then mary dies at some point and he has to grieve her too. and then holmes comes out and surprise! i was faking all along.

• history 📜 I'm interested in queer history, American history, and French history. I also know a small amount of classical history.
• theme parks 🎢🤖especially disney ones, tho not exclusively. themed environments, dark rides, and animatronics are my love
• languages 🗣️ I've been studying French off and on for over ten years, and a Scandinavian language for the past five years (first Danish, now Swedish). I've dabbled in Finnish, Japanese, and German in the past, and would like to return to them in the future.
• video games 🎮 point and click adventure games, the elder scrolls, and rct2 are what take up most of my time lately
• Sherlock Holmes 🔎 the 80s/90s bbc radio series is the best adaptation, followed closely by the animated furry ones
• computer stuff 🖥️ Ill probably post about running linux 🐧🦊 or other techy things
• Donald Duck comics 🦆 Haven't been active in the fandom for a bit, but may cross-post some of my scanlations from tumblr here, or start new ones if I find a story I really like.

Finished watching the blu-ray copy I grabbed of Sherlock Hound. I’d never watched it before so I took a gamble on it but wow was it good! Highly recommend the Japanese version!

Holmes and Watson were really cute so naturally I had to draw them. Check in next week for some Moriarty.
