Why is there no Fishing in Cow Life Sim RPG?

Adding fishing was one of the most common requests I got while making CLS and so I want to explain why I didn't add it and never will. The suggestion isn't unexpected, fishing is a staple for life sims, RPGs, and nearly every video game genre today. It's a chill and relaxing activity. But real fishing is violent. It's dragging a sentient feeling animal by a hook in their mouth to then suffocate and kill them. Even with catch-and-release, fish often don't survive the encounter because of the stress and exertion from being caught (a 16% to over 40% chance of death depending on how hot it is and how the fish is handled).

But it's just a video game

Video games and all art have an effect on the world. Portraying fishing as a fun and relaxing hobby teaches and reinforces this belief in people. Fishing being as widespread as it is in gaming has almost assuredly caused some people to take it up as a hobby and I don't want to be a part of that.

Thank you everyone so much for playing Cow Life Sim RPG! I should have another little bug fix patch coming out soon, but after that I'm going to move to making a brand new game (more on that in the future, but it will feature Jonald trying to buy a Wii on launch day and I'm hoping to have a demo ready for the October steam fest).

Unfortunately I need to ask for help so I can afford life and keep making games. I am currently in debt and slowly going further into debt just paying for food, rent, and other necessities.
