so, it's public on Twitter now (much earlier than I think was originally anticipated) but, Revenant Hill is no longer in development.

I'm gutted, and that feels like an understatement. Above all else, I want Scott's health to be stable and not full of ~medical mysteries~ because it really sucks (understatement is all i have rn) to see a friend in this situation. And also because we Really Really enjoy collaborating together and hope to continue someday.

I've known this was coming for a little while. I've cried a lot, I've hardly touched my banjo, and I had to change my desktop background with the key art from when we announced earlier this year because I already miss our story and characters so much.

I'm also now looking for additional longer term work, especially for 2024 (I'll make a separate post about this when i feel up to it)

thanks, everyone 💜

It's a lovely place, filled with laughing happy people, because they all get free articles, videos, podcasts, and games. And they never have to see an advertisement, of any sort. They wouldn't even fully understand what an advertisement was if you tried to explain it to them, and if you did get the concept across they'd be very confused as to why anyone would want such a thing. Their lives are enviable!

But in the same city, in a dank basement, sits a child in filthy rags, who must watch, read, and listen to advertisements 24/7. They have never seen a piece of content that is not sponsored or in some way trying to sell them something.

When residents of the city reach the age of maturity, they're taken to see this child, and told how the happiness of the rest of the city relies on this child watching ads to keep the average numbers up. Many sob and cry in the moment and as they go about their lives think solemnly of that child. But a few, a very few, slip away and leave the city forever.

Pitch: We make a website distributing roms of nintendo games that are completely normal aside from changing 1 line of text to say Fuck somewhere.

Thus, the question: Where's the funniest place to put it in any given game?
