if you feel the urge to be fucking weird in a Black person's mentions or to Black people in general (ever, but especially tomorrow), INSTEAD OF DOING THAT, maybe shut up and donate to or boost a Black person's mutual aid/crowdfunding post instead. also consider reading and listening. that would be a great way to celebrate and also to live your life in general.

please remember that the first best place to start helping is with the Black people, communities, and organizations in your life.

Also, there is literally evidence that fundraisers and mutual aid posts by Black people, particularly further-marginalized Black people, receive far less support, both in overall donations and in consistency, than fundraisers and mutual aid for white people of all marginalizations. If you donate and/OR boost, here or in your offline life, don't just do it today. Solidarity is a practice.

i wanted to share some Palestinian fundraisers i've been contacted about. please share and if you are able, please donate. any amount helps -- seriously.

Donate to Mustafa Alarini- Mustafa is a medical doctor and recent graduate. He worked at Al-Shifa hospital at the beginning of the genocide and at various other hospitals since. He is trying to evacuate from Gaza to the UK to continue his medical career. This fundraiser is very close to its goal! (mustafa.alarini on instagram)

Donate to the Kamal family - The family of a student in my city. While 8 family members (and their cats) evacuated in April, funds are still needed to evacuate those remaining in Rafah. This fundraiser is over 90% of the way to its goal -- one more big push and it will be met! (sponsored by sjpvcu on instagram) EDIT: GOAL MET! The Kamal family is still accepting donations as of 6/12, I will update if/when this changes.

Donate to the Salhab family - The Salhab family thankfully met their fundraising goal to evacuate, but they are in need of donations to cover the high cost of living in Cairo. (savesamiandhisfam on instagram)

Donate to the Mustafa family- A family of 16 displaced several times. They are trying to evacuate from Gaza, and some are trying to get to Canada to stay with their family. The family's first fundraiser was taken down by GFM, and their new one has not seen much traction. It's a big goal, but a very achievable one. Donate to Muhammad and Yazan - Two brothers and university students. They are trying to evacuate and continue their university studies abroad. They've raised enough to evacuate one brother. Getting this fundraiser to at least 10k ASAP is extremely doable! (watermelon_.friends on instagram)

Donate to Amira Balousha's family - Amira is fundraising to evacuate her remaining family members from Gaza. Unfortunately, 21 members of Amira's family have been martyred since October. (merobalousha on instagram)

Donate to Ashraf Abu Musa's family - Ashraf is fundraising to evacuate his family members from Gaza. His brother, Alaa, is a pharmacist, but unfortunately both his pharmacy and the family home have been destroyed. (abumousaashraf on instagram)

Donate to Jana and her family - Jana is a 14 year old artist displaced with her family to Rafah. She lives in a tent with five members of her family. Her father has heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure, and does not have reliable access to medication he needs to survive.
