is so funny in retrospect. hundreds of thousands of people so righteously angry because a bunch of server owners convinced them that mojang was being Unethical and Destroying The Community because they very quietly took the very mild stance of "we're not going to formally allow you to use our product to exploit children."
fact is, only the biggest servers were ever under threat of action from mojang, and none of them (to the best of my knowledge) were seriously harmed by it. mineplex's servers are still online, people just don't play there anymore because it kinda sucks. hypixel expanded and expanded to the point that they managed to form a full game development studio (albeit with Riot's help).
literally no one was hurt by the eula revision.
(that all being said, though, the bukkit situation was pretty messed up, but that's not what anyone remembers about it.)
