hmm i'm gonna drop this under a readmore since the rest of ch8 isn't here yet, but i'm not spoiling anything specific
if the rest of the game was seeing how the world affects the characters, ch8 is examining why the world is like that to begin with. so it HAS to be about all the lore stuff, otherwise it would just get taken for granted (if that makes sense)
the point of the trick chapters is to get to see the wider world rather than staying focused on treat/mochi/moxie's tiny world forever too... like, the gf trio's story ended in ch7. they're all together and happy. trick has unfinished business... so ch8 is like, wrapping up loose ends before the epilogue.
sidenote: before i got to actually make chickpea farm, i spent years like "omg once it loops around to trick's chapter again i can have them go to the MEAT FACTORY MENTIONED IN CH2!!!!!!!!!!" it was the part i was looking forward to most because it's so fucked up. and it got even better after adding phoenix... wow. still excited to make the rest, but that was a major highlight lol.
