💜serious music talk though(as serious you can talk about weezer), as seemingly silly as it is weezer was legit the first band that got me out of listening purely pop music. Blue album after all these years sits squarely at my 3rd favourite (I'm more attached to White as first place and Pinkerton>Blue), it's just a fun romp through every time.
I love the energy Blue album exudes, Green tried to replicate it but it lack the whimsy, White and Everything Will Be Alright In The End got it a lot closer but something about Blue just clicks so well, the earworms, the guitars, the nervous energy. Most of the riffs just gets you hyped up while you listen to rivers cuomo sing about falling apart
With all the praise I give Blue I think the biggest reason I love White album way more is that White Gets Weirder with it, more anthemic. People critise the lyrics being literally picked and chosen from spreadsheets but it honestly works to the album's favour. I Want to come back to White and listen to the best melodies and riffs weezer has put out. the years leading up to EWBAITE produced the best repository of demos that rivers wrote to pick and dissect for literally the last decade to put out for weezer tracks
