Yet another thing that proves that Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2 are the same game.
- 2nd major 3D game in series, first of new millennium
- Mostly played on the GameCube
- Starts on an airplane
- Hero is falsely accused of crimes
- Turns out he was framed by his "shadow", who mimics the hero's design
- The "shadow" first appears standing upon the outcome of one of the first bosses, then runs past the hero and grabs that which is always grabbed in the series
- That "shadow" has a hidden relationship to the series antagonist
- Somewhat less exploration-based than predecessor
- Advertising features urine jokes
- Luigi is not playable
DARK STORY for Super Mario Sunshine where you have to go around as Shadow Mario with the paintbrush, culminating in a joint effort to prevent Corona Mountain from erupting (which would coat the whole island in lethal goo)
and then the next entry in the series is where you play as Bowser Jr trying to remember who his mother is while everybody leads him astray
