i took a break from updating this for a bit because the last month has been very busy and i needed to just mash without too much reflection.
today feels like a good day to bump this back, in part because life has calmed down a little, part because of what's going on over at Twitter, but mostly because ya boy ended up in the Post this morning talking about +R Chipp player Joe Biden.
After taking a break from tournaments for a while, I ended up entering a bunch of tournaments last week because we got rollback in Rev2 now. 7th in TNS's ~90 person bracket, 7th in REV2SDAY (64ppl) later that evening, and 7th in TXT (64) on Thursday, then won Harmonic Combo in Berkeley on Saturday. Feel pretty good about it overall, and I think it has been a good opportunity to gather data about players and matchups I don't have that much experience with.
Got Tag-In Battle coming up this weekend and this time I'm entering VSav, UNI, and MBAACC in addition to Rev0. It's funny but since I'm not defending a streak any more I figured I might as well just enter everything (except Type Lumina) and I think it's gonna be a fun time. @luminousillusion thank you for the practice help tonight!
I like this site because I like writing and miss blogging-as-a-social-activity instead of writing Content. The kind of stuff I'm writing here is the kind of stuff I cannot write on Twitter because Twitter is meant for yelling, not thinking. these days i mostly use it to amplify the stuff i care about. my day-to-day online socializing is mostly in Discord and DMs. cohost is not a replacement for Twitter and i think that's why it feels better to be here.
my favorite stuff on this site so far has easily been @bruno's magic the gathering competitive history writeups.
