friday night started with me introducing a handful of coworkers to our local garage venue, gamecenter. one of them remarked on the walk through the parking lot that it felt like we were going to a place to do something illegal, and yeah, that's good vibes for a fighting game venue. ended up mashing on some 3s and a little UNI to knock off some of the rust for tag-in battle.

saturday started early with frankie waking me up at 645 and leaving me unable to return to sleep. ended up zonked as hell for the busiest tag-in battle i've had in a long time; i entered VSav, UNI, MBAACC, and Rev0.

my run began with VSav; a little preparation with @LuminousIllusion on Thursday paid off big. i have never gone deep on VSav, but it's a pretty natural fit for someone who played a lot of CvS2 as a lot of the neutral feels pretty similar in some ways. ended up making a perfect run all the way through grand finals! didn't drop a dang game.

next was UNI. i ended up going 3-2 and placing 4th overall, but i had a lot of fun playing Chaos again and i think i'm gonna start entering UNI brackets again when they run it at NCR or Tag-In. miss that game and would love to pick it back up a couple times a month.

at this point i'm pretty tired from the 4h sleep, 2h drive, and two tournament bracket runs. rev0 happens and i blew a 2-0 lead to lose to TomTom in WF and then lost a close 3-2 to babbaloo in losers after 2-0ing him on the winners side. i had controller disconnects in both sets which fucked with my vibe real bad and i simply did not have the MP left to play intelligently for finals sets with those two. it's nice to see their consistency paying off though! TomTom just won two other brackets today (and Babbaloo got second in one of those, too). kid is fuckin wildin!!

last was AACC, which was a fun small bracket and i went 1-2, all my games were pretty close though. i had fun running maids shenanigans though! the game is fun as hell and i am generally content to pick it up infrequently and mash out some stupid tricks, which is a fun way to play the game. i think i like chaos + azhi more than F-Maids because the Maids' energy meter really clamps down on my ability to do fun things with them, but the maids are cute, so i stay entering AACC.

i ended up having to leave a little earlier than usual because i was so tired and didn't want to risk a bad late night drive, got home, and passed tf out.

today was mostly chillin, taking care of some life shit, and planning out RESSHOUMANIA. i did take a break to play on the TSB rev2 stream cab and had a good rotation going with kbnova, daveo, tenpai, superserious, and a couple other folks.

my entire life is fighting games. making some kinda bad french toast and cleaning off the patio was a lovely break. really looking forward to getting back to exercising. i still feel weak and low-energy from COVID, and this weekend being closer to the pace i was sustaining pre-COVID took a lot more out of me than i was used to. i'm tired, but it feels like the good kind of tired. time to crash.
