instead of working out i went to go buy taco supplies for a sunday cookout, which is me trying to be more well-balanced with my life and see my friends sometimes on the weekend. between work and play, i think i spend about 3h/day actively playing fighting games, and with event organizing on top of that i don't really do much else. so when the homies decide to Do A Thing, i try to make sure i turn up for it, even if it'll fuck with my routine.
after that i went to gamecenter with irene. ggxrd was pretty light there, just us and two others, so we kept the rotation going and played around with secondary characters a bunch. real chill friday session until daymendou showed up and scraped me something like 17 games in a row, though i guess even that was chill.
i have to remind myself that i'm good at this game after playing him. he's REALLY good at the game, but he's also actually my worst possible matchup ever, and it's easy for me to lose sight of my progress when i play against him sometimes because he wrecks me without breaking a sweat. that said, i did do two things against him this time that were good (an abare 6P i haven't really tried before, and some good instant blocking), plus i hit my TK alpha blade combos, so i do have some things to feel good about. it's nice to know that even after all this time there's still another mountain to climb, i guess.
also, irene and i modeled some of this year's Vortex Gallery shirts at gamecenter and i'm hoping the pics came out good. we're real cute. and we never really did the whole engagement photos thing...
anyway, tomorrow is tag-in battle. gonna see if i can win it for the 6th time in a row (last time was supposedly the 6th but i think i miscounted).
