played nice and clean for the most part and took another W in GGXrd at Tag-In Battle. really happy with how i played against nuklearpapaya (ram) and babbaloo (raven). i think next time i might save chipp for losers bracket and run jam in winners just to keep things interesting.
i also entered DNF Duel and went 0-2. first set was very close, went down to the last hit. second set was shaping up to be pretty free, but i could feel the guy i was playing get real tilted. in that moment, i realized that he cared about the game much, much more than i did, and just kinda pumped the brakes until he won a close one. when i feel this way in tournament it's a sign that i don't like the game enough to care about playing it, so i gave him the W and got home before 10pm, which almost never happens.
afterwards i saw that the people i lost to got first and third place, which is probably the best outcome. as much as i would have liked to win $200 or so, it's better for everybody if people who like the game win its tournaments. and i won like $250 during the bounty bracket last time anyway.
later, i described to a friend my opinion on DNF as "one of the worst ways i've spent $50 in recent memory". it really isn't my thing. it smells disposable. like it wasn't designed for people to spend the rest of their lives playing. and that's basically all i'm into these days.
got home and ended up on some netplay +R afterwards for an hour or so. fighting games are something so great <3
