Hello all! After a month of sitting in line, my account has finally been released so that I can post freely.
As an introduction - I'm a Bird Site refugee and recently completed a PhD in Space and Planetary Sciences. I'm currently working as a postdoc at Northern Arizona University (remotely from Arkansas) where I'm doing a lot of writing and working with datasets evaluating the Antarctic Dry Valleys. My dissertation research focused on studying permafrost (or the lack thereof) in arctic, subarctic, and alpine settings on Earth and applying those observations to Mars. My research made heavy use of drones and the image above is form one of my field sites in Iceland.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and photography, and I've been known to occasionally go storm chasing. No clue where I'll go from here on cohost, but I'm excited to give this platform a shot. I'm also over on Mastodon at mstdn.social/@paulknightly .
