as a tsimshian working to be fluent in their nation's language this project is so dope to me!! as a non-programmer a lot of the article goes over my head, but indigenous peoples envisioning new ways of relating with technology and "de-anglo"-ing it let's say will never not be incredibly inspirational to me

i can at least explain one specific thing that's neat and you'll understand. in java, you can use "if" as logic (like, if i'm 21+ i can go to the bar, else i can go home) and one of the ways to say this in cree+ is sîpiy, or river. "flow" is a common metaphor in coding (think about flow charts), and it's neat to see a cree term adapted this way into a new context.
