I am usually skeptical when I hear the news reporting that the aurora will be visible from Pennsylvania. After hearing about all the solar activity this time I decided to drive out of the city to try to see it. My girlfriend and I drove an hour north to Moraine State Park and waited until it got dark enough. I thought it was going to be a let down because initially all we were seeing was a faint, blobby glow. A little after 10:30 all the light coalesced into a spectacular show. All though my camera can pick up more, our eyes could still see a lot of the color and detail. I’m still in awe of over it.
