I was thinking about Utada Hikaru’s album BADモード the other day and I remembered this review I had read while listening to it a while back. I wanted to share a quick quote from the beginning of the interview that I think summarized the feeling of the album:
“Utada, who has been irrefutable J-pop royalty for more than 20 years, is still feeling themselves out, and BADモード’s depictions of love and reality—so suffused with relatable emotions—read like a friend’s gentle reminder that we’re always coming into our own.”
The album is so good, the article adds some extra insight into the music though that made me appreciate it even more. If you haven’t checked it out you should listen to it!!!!
