if we want this place to not be as awful a hate spiral hyperplex as tumblr can be, then i think we have to be proactive in our intolerance for that garbage
and yeah i realise there's a lot of edge cases and i haven't covered my ass at all here but like, there's a lot of people to disagree with on the internet and you don't have to ruin all their days. maybe just let your friends know. idk i'm just tired of the hate mill and i don't want to see it grow here

i think that the purpose of a callout is to strike upwards at someone in, or who was in, a position of power, whether that be in a relationship, a group, an organisation, whatever. if someone in a position of power over you or someone you know caused harm and was not held accountable, then a callout can be justified.
a callout against a person who is and was not in a position of power, especially a person who is vulnerable, is targeted harassment.
