why is it “a significant drop in queries” yet it's “billions of dollars in lost revenues”? why is the lower demand a “drop” yet the lower revenue “lost”? that's kind of rhetorical, but it is important to notice the reporter get this wrong too, and i need to understand why.
also yes of course they are so worried for the user not being able to find a googoo box to type into! they are relying on antipatterns to dissuade choice, right down to the ridiculous ui hurdles of “cookie choice” to keep users from rejecting_legitimate_interest on their partners. ugh their idea of a partnership makes me bleh.
