i think i've talked about it more privately but essentially i feel like i've been burning myself out working with my FIFO style commissions. having a set number of slots and the option to be picky about what i work on means I'll have more energy and be able to give my best. It feels like a big change for me because im so used to just taking whatever work comes in even if i'm not 100% excited to work on it, and that's not good for me because im burning out on work im not passionate about, and bad for the customer because im not giving them my best!
That's all, im just trying to be more mindful and discerning about the work i take on. I probably will still say yes to most things submitted, but having the option to say no feels like i'll have room to breathe and enjoy making art.
