One of the weird things they don't tell you about getting old is the way you will occasionally find bits of your life archived on the internet, literally in this case.

From another birthday concert. I wasn't super familiar with Cohen when I bought the tickets, but I figured it would be a good show at least. This song absolutely rocked me and made me an admirer for life.

I thought Hallelujah would be whatever after hearing so many covers, but the original remains transcendent.

I'm very glad I got to see him once before he died.

My view from the side nosebleeds was nowhere near as good as this, but I still had a fun time. This was my first concert since the pandemic started, and the energy was good. Lizzo is amazing, and absolutely beautiful. I did not know you can do a fucking badass solo on a flute, but it is indeed possible.

There was a guy on the floor who went to high school with her in Houston and had a poster with their yearbook pictures on it. She laughed and signed it and it was great.

Now that I have had my collective emotion with a crowd of people, I will go back to my usual misanthropy.
