i often think about how much i loved portal 2 for basically being an amazing theatrical play type experience wrapped in a relatively simple game format and how much i wish there were more games like that

,,i've been playing alan wake 2 recently and honestly for me it's exactly that, that game makes me so stupidly happy at times, especially with how it ties into the story and world established in control, there have been a lot of moments that genuinely put a big smile on my face which, i honestly rarely get a reaction like that from media

like don't get me wrong the gameplay kinda sucks but for me personally the rest of the experience more than makes up for it

this this this, big agree, the gameplay really feels like an afterthought, like its just there so that people dont complain about it being a walking simulator, but i have a feeling that if they could, remedy would have just made it a walking simulator. best they could do is limit the combat encounters to be pretty rare.

i reaaally want more games like this, that kind of theatrical experience where you feel like a part of the play
