one thing i really really like about this old macbook i have is the glossy screen, it looks so much better than any matte screen i've seen out there, it kinda spoiled me tbh all matte monitors just look awful to me now

so i figured i'd look into glossy monitors for my desktop, i'm def not in a situation where i could afford a new monitor but i figured it wouldn't hurt to look and,,

there just aren't any?? like literally there's the apple studio display (super expensive obv) and that's it

why is nobody making glossy monitors? they look so much better like it's not even comparable

in reply to @peb's post:

glossy finish is a way to trick you into thinking the screen is brighter and with better colours than it really has

go look at a 100% sRGB (or better) matte screen, 400 nits or better brightness. it will kick your old macbooks ass

also nobody likes reflections

i don't doubt you're right, i'm sure any expensive matte monitor would make this laptop screen look bad, i'd just like to have the option to get a not overpriced glossy monitor, i just prefer the look of them

also ngl i'd rather deal with reflections than the washed out muted look most matte screens have, i get i'm in the minority here but it's weird there just, aren't any options available
