I read your post about body integrity dysphoria. It taught me about a condition that I didn't know existed, and to the degree that others know about it, is surely misunderstood in a patronizing manner. The symptoms remind me of OCD and other serious mental conditions. Being able to know more about your experiences allow me to feel empathy for you, and to understand that other people suffer in unique ways.

i mostly wrote it out bc it's a thing like nobody knows about and most of the resources on it online are either just, horrible, completely out of date or both and i wanted to both spread awareness of it to help destigmatize it and to help those who struggle with it not feel alone or even know that it's not just them and that such a thing exists
