It was an interesting experience and a weird departure for Millenium Kitchen from Boku no Natsuyasumi.

This game is closer to a Tokimeki Memorial-kind of game where a procedural(?) story is told from character building and stats management and occasional cutscenes. On the main mode of this game, which is what I've played so far, you play the parents of a 3-child family raising them up to your 60's.

From my first run (that basically failed with all but one child becoming depressed into their adulthood) I thought this game's gameplay-narrative interaction was gonna be very shallow because of what I experienced with Tokimeki Memorial, but on a second run I become more aware of the nuance of the role the character building plays into the narrative you end up with.

I have some lingering critiques of the game but I think I should play it a bit more before actually saying it. I wanna try the other modes and experiment more with the status game seems to have a lot of potential. Also it's a very quick game, where a run is like 1 or 2 hours tops.
