This user is upset at forms that don't make it clear whether you need to fill in your actual registration/ID name. Filling forms always feels like I'm either risking being outed unnecessarily or having my registration denied because of that.

It's worse in forms that are actually trans-inclusive and have fields for "Full name" and "How you'd like to be called", because the first is not clear if you can fill your full actual name or if needs to be the registered/ID one, and the latter can range from actual name to any nickname.

Idk if it's just because I'm used to how it's done in Brazil, where the trans-inclusive forms I've filled were very clear with "Full Registration/ID name" and "Full Social/Prefered name" fields, all the english ones I've done are so ambiguous about it and it upsets me so much.

Ughhh, that's so frustrating. But you're right, on so many forms it's really unclear whether they actually need your legal name or not, and it sucks when you get stuck being called that...

In my experience lot of people & places totally ignore the preferred field and call you by your legal name anyway; like, why bother having it...
