Japanese CD releases always have the best shit on them like extra remixes and what not and now I am also obsessed with getting ones with the obi intact which is problematic because those are usually more expensive but now I’m like shit I want every Japanese release of every CD I have now with the obi intact
Edit: I learned about this stuff because I was using exact audio copy to rip a cd and then I noticed there were a bunch of other versions with different track lists and I learned about the obi on Japanese releases and the Japanese releases always had the longest track lists and I was like shit fuck, I have autism
Don't know how true this is, but I heard the practice of putting exclusive content in the Japanese CD was because of weird money reasons, often the imported US CD would somehow be cheaper than the official Japanese CD's (I'm sure it's the record companies' faults).
So they started putting extra tracks you could only get on the Japanese release, to encourage the Japanese public to spend the extra dough.
