hey remember this post where I said, in no uncertain terms:
...where I am given the choice between an "original" soundtrack and a "new" surround soundtrack, I will always choose the original. Multiple soundtracks are offered on basically every release I've obtained thus far, and I wanted to make it clear which ones I will choose.
Well guess what? The "original" audio tracks Paramount included on the TNG blu-rays seem to have a persistent, repetitive popping in them that Paramount never bothered to clean up. I don't know if these are present in the old DVDs or not, but it's so annoying and impossible to ignore that my hand is forced into using the remastered audio in 5.1ch 384kbps AAC, since it doesn't have that issue. You got me there, Paramount, you bastards...
