Current Hyperfixation: Wizard of Oz

I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

Check tags like Star Trek Archive and Media Piracy to find things I share for others.

Piracy forced the creation of the streaming economy because their only choice was to make it easier to stream than pirate. Now every streaming service is racing to the bottom based on the belief they have captured the audience forever. The only ethical solution, therefore, is to start pirating again.

I keep simping for it but honestly it makes each viewing decision more meaningful and memorable. I bought the Synapse blu-ray of Suspiria a little while ago, and though I've seen it before, it was probably the most memorable time I've watched it. Not the least because it's certainly higher quality than what streaming services and 1GB torrents can offer visually.

way ahead of them, been pirating everything that's on streaming services from the very beginning. as a matter of fact, I've always been of the belief that the only thing the streaming model did was make piracy a million times easier

Those are pretty good. If it's HDR then it's typically sourced from a 4K blu-ray which can range from 50-80GB at the source, so a reduction in size of 10-50% is basically unnoticeable.
