I went to an Adobe piracy forum to get Acrobat for my dad since he needs it for work or whatever, and no shit the piracy forum was like "yeah this guide might be outdated, check our discord for up to date information."
Even the software pirates have succumbed to this shit? Really?
so for piracy specifically i can kind of understand, since keeping that info too public could get them in hot water. but yeah it still sucks.
also, i've been using foxit as my pdf reader for like a decade, its free but you do have to turn off some of the nagging about related software & updates
He needs editing and signing functionality since he works with law offices, and that's one of those Industries where if you're not using Big Company's bullshit, you can't really get anything done. It sucks but I'm happy to just give him what he needs rather than do the stereotypical "no wait dad look at this free alternative it does all the same things" "son what have you done to the computer I need to do my taxes"
