I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

Check tags like Star Trek Archive and Media Piracy to find things I share for others.

a SanDisk Sansa Clip+ with rockbox and a pair of really nice IEMs really is an ideal way to enjoy my music. size and weight of a postage stamp, clips to my shirt, doesn't require dealing with Phone Shit, plays my FLACs, has great sound quality, accepts a 256gb microSD card, battery lasts ages. it's perfect

edit: note: i'm currently trying it with a pair of Shure E5s, a truly ancient set of high-end dual-driver BA IEMs, and it's driving them very well despite the fact that they're 110-ohm phones. iirc it can drive even my 600-ohm HD540 References at a decent volume level if I crank it

oh, i've still got a working(-ish) Fuze hanging around, it's the only working analog radio i still have in the apartment

The internal battery is shot to hell but i'm sure that could be worked around. The real problem is the rubber coating has degraded to the point where it's an almost-goopy sticky mess, and it's not really worth trying to salvage the rest until that can be dealt with... if that can be dealt with...

mine sadly broke but i rocked a clip+ for a few years back in high school. it really was the perfect mp3 player, still remember using some random site to upload the logs rockbox put out to last.fm. any of the later ones always seemed trash though, why would i want some shitty color lcd display just to show album artwork in 200*200 pixels
