so you've heard this Mario guy is a "plumber" who's often running around "sewers." me too! sounds neat. great. cool. but uh, what is a "plumber"? what is a "sewer"? good luck finding out, if the supposedly "super" Mario Wiki has its way
oh they list plenty of "sewers," by name even. over 40 of the things! but they neglect to explain what the hell a "sewer" actually is. from context i guess some underground(?) obstacle course in which a "plumber" (???) can kick animals and demonstrate gymnastics?? REALLY?
if you've an inkling that "poop" or "sewage" might somehow be involved then we're on the same wavelength but once again Mario Wiki offers precious little guidance. a search for "poop" unhelpfully returns "did you mean poll?" NO i meant POOP and you're telling me "jack shit" (related ?) about what that actually is!

a number of articles make breezy off-hand references to the "poop" thing as if everyone's already a pledging member of the divine sisterhood of poop-knowers. that's great but what if we are not, Mario Wiki? guess we can just go fuck ourselves, right
and then there's "diapers" (???????) which is another whole damn conspicuously unexplained thing

In the Mario universe there is no poop, nobody poops. Plumbers are just weird little guys who explore the "sewers" which are arcane structures left by the ancients, purpose unknown, populated by the dangerous beasts of the underworld.
