watching the Enterprise intro while stoned really makes you understand what a good intro it is?
like sure its jarring to fans for like "oh no where is big orchestral space opera music" but chill out a little man it can be its own funky separate thing and how it portrays the advancement of all human seafaring and spacefaring technology from the first boat to the Enterprise we see in the show, all through this timeline highlighting the vessels named Enterprise throughout the journey, solidifying the significance of a name like that while effectively communicating the point and specific themes of the show. Like bro this is an advancement we've progressed beyond the need for the captain to recite the thesis statement to the audience, and DS9 and VOY's need to... just be, like, a CGI demonstration slideshow that tells you nothing other than "look it's the place where the show is". This intro COMMUNICATES purely visually what the show is about...
but if that wasnt enough for you the song's lyrics are openly emotional, a little willing to accept its own cheesiness and corniness in service of being cool as hell and embracing the journey of life and using human optimism to seek improvement and advancement for the future, and also the guitar is cool you guys okay it's not a bad song it's just different and different is okay for Star Trek to be sometimes guys LEAVE HER ALONE
