Was about to post about another annoyance I've had with my Samsung Galaxy A52 - anytime I record a video, there's always some kind of loud pop somewhere in the audio, even if my hands are nowhere near the microphones.
I was actually about to conclude that this was caused by my phone case rather than the phone itself, from some quick testing I did, giving the phone a (presumable) win.
And then the vibration motor died.
The vibration motor that was already godawful and made it feel like the phone was a rectangular baby rattle. But I rely on the vibrative feedback on the keyboard to maintain a good pace when typing, and ensure I don't miss touches or immediately get feedback if I touch two keys or something. Without it, it feels like I'm touch-typing blind. It wrecks my already not great WPM on a phone keyboard.
I thought maybe I engaged some silent no-vibrate mode. I looked in settings. Even changing vibration settings, which if I recall would always result in a demonstrative bzz, does nothing. Restarting the phone doesn't fix anything. Nope. The vibration motor in my 2-year-old smartphone just died for no good reason.
I'd love to not feel like I have to get an expensive flagship phone, but the OEMs sure don't make thag easy.
Anyways I wish the FairPhone 5 would release in the US with proper US carrier band support, because I would definitely get that. Assuming that doesn't happen, I suppose I'm gonna be getting the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro whenever those launch next month.
