the real challenge in caveman stories is that having them speak grunty broken English doesn't make any sense if they're meant to be speaking their own language among themselves
but it's so iconic
insert the first Doctor Who serial where prehistoric cavemen are inexplicably speaking fluent English and can communicate flawlessly with the modern day protagonists - the TARDIS being able to translate wouldn't be established for over a decade, so at the time this was likely expected to just be a part of the viewer's suspension of disbelief.
