Current Hyperfixation: Wizard of Oz

  • He/Him

I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

Check tags like Star Trek Archive and Media Piracy to find things I share for others.

  • Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) BD (Digibook) - I saw this years ago in school and it amazes me at the time, always been meaning to check it out again since then.

  • Rocky Horror Picture Show OST CD - already own one but it's missing some tracks, this is the "25 Years of Absolute Pleasure" release that's fully complete.

  • Little Shop of Horrors (1986) BD - includes theatrical and director's cuts; I like both endings okay I think they both have their qualities and flaws.

  • The Lost Boys (1987) 4K/BD - Great flick, only ever seen it on the DVD. Also it was $15.

  • The Outwaters (2022) BD - been fascinated by this indie flick ever since I read some great reviews by people I respect on Letterboxd, and seeing the genuinely chilling trailers. It's been compared against Skinamarink a lot since they came out around the same times and are similarly zero-budget indie horrror flicks that came out of nowhere, and similar to Skinamarink people seem pretty sharply divided on it. I'd been checking to see if it was coming to BD for months, I finally checked again yesterday and it's for sale on Vinegar Syndrome's website! Though I was a bit late and missed the admittedly badass slipcover. Eager to finally get to see it.

  • The Boogeyman (1980) 4K/BD - This is a bad movie, probably. But one I've been wanting to see for a minute as well. At the very least it seems batshit insane. If you know anything of this film it's probably from this one clip from it that I feel like I've seen before but the video I'm linking only has 13K videos in 11 years so maybe it didn't go as viral as I thought:

  • Tammy and the T-Rex (1994) 4K/BD - Pretty infamous flop of a movie, it was originally shot as an R-rated horror comedy, but studios cut out all the actual good stuff to make it PG-13, for some ungodly reason. Vinegar Syndrome in 2019 restored the film to its original glory, and I was turned onto this by a friend. Seems at least like a not-boring experience!

  • Death in Brunswick (1990) BD - Same friend who turned me on to Tammy and the T-Rex suggested this flick, which I probably wouldn't have grabbed at the time, honestly, except... Sam Neill. I'm legally obligated to watch anything with Sam Neill in it. And the movie seems like some bizarre dark comedy that reminds me of Wild at Heart and Peter Jackson's pre-LOTR films in a good way.
