Current Hyperfixation: Wizard of Oz

I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

Check tags like Star Trek Archive and Media Piracy to find things I share for others.

Just finished The Giggle and wow that made some, shall we say BOLD narrative decisions that I will have to see how they play out in the long term to really come to a conclusion about but overall yeah that was Fun As Hell!

My main issue with all of these specials is the overstuffed pacing but I wonder if that's just how television is now and I've just got to deal with. But that aside this was a wild ride from beginning to end.

Didn't really get to see enough of Ncuti to form a solid opinion on him, but I was surprised to discover there will be a fourth special coming on Christmas, titled The Church on Ruby Road, so I'll be able to more properly form an opinion on him there. Haven't disliked him so far, just, he got like 5 lines lol, and spent his entire screentime without pants on :p

Neil Patrick Harris was delightfully campy and scenery-chewing as the Toymaker, given some wonderfully freaky shit to do. Neil Patrick Harris is like a strong seasoning best used sparingly to play over-the-top side characters and whoever first thought he should be a leading man in anything was wrong because this is his specialty, this man is a Character Actor through and through. His absurd, intentionally awful German accent was hilarious and you get some very Jobu Tupaki vibes from his character.

Though through the whole special I kept trying to remember his name and my brain kept wanting to say he was "Neil DeGrasse Tyson" so
