Current Hyperfixation: Wizard of Oz

  • He/Him

I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

Check tags like Star Trek Archive and Media Piracy to find things I share for others.

  • Doctor Who Series 1-4 Remastered Blu-ray Set (this one is GOOD because they finally fixed the crummy upscale and 24p slowdown for all of Series 1-4. Upscale is much more modern and it runs at the proper 25p! They even remade the credits in HD! The Series 4 specials aren't an encoding nightmare!)

  • Month Python's Flying Circus Series 1 & 2 Blu-rays (remasters from Network, a company that I believe recently went out of business. Those sets were on sale on Rarewaves for like $12 a pop so I grabbed the first two. For some reason they don't have Series 3 but they do have Series 4, hmm...)

  • The Thick of It DVD (Peter Capaldi.)

  • Dirk Gently DVD (I have the US DVD that I believe is slowed from 25p to 24p, and also you get the NTSC resolution crush from 576 to 480. Wanted the proper disc. And it was $10.)

Dang! Well I'll have to judge whether I even want the digipacks for the other seasons because a booklet does me little good if the disc holders are those crappy cardboard sleeves that scratch up discs automatically haha

Oh thank goodness! Well, I'll see if I can find the digibook seasons elsewhere or maybe the complete show box set (which I assume would include all the booklets) and then I might sell off or give away the Series 2 standard set haha.

Unless they're getting really expensive and hard to find since Network is out in which case I'll just take what I can get :p

Yeah the digipack set of Series 1 I grabbed says "limited" in the description on Rarewaves but it was also released initially in 2019 I believe so there may be less demand for them than Network expected. Hoping there's still a lot of unsold stock sitting around haha.
