i've been pretty depressed lately but it helps to know what i can always go to the zoo and eat an ice cream while making eye contact with a mountain lion
the sheer healing power and emotional nourishment one can get from Seeing A Creature and admiring them contemplatively cannot ever be understated i think. i was talkin about this with a pal the other day even.
for all the stuff we have going on here (in florida), i think birds are a large part of the plaster that holds things together on my end
its hard to despair about things when theres a funny lookin guy over there so calm and so patient (a heron/egret)
or like a whole bunch of ospreys in a nesting box on top of a power pole peeping so loud
"go touch grass" is out. "go stare at a bird" is in
