Using cohost drafts as a quick and dirty way to transfer a picture from my phone to my PC

seriously why is it such an awful experience to transfer a picture from an android phone over a wired USB-C connection. This "PTP" "MTP" bullshit should've been killed ages ago. It infuriates me to no end that android used to come with a Mass Storage option so it would appear to your PC the same way the file system would present to you using your Android's file browser, and run just as quickly. Then around like the 6.0/7.0 mark or so they took that away and replaced it with a pile of hot garbage so agonizingly slow every time I have to assume it works by making the poor little phone CPU create a virtual file server over an artificially constricted internal network or some dogshit like that. Your folders and files populate like a dial-up connection.

Absurd really that this is basically the best way to do file transfers on a lot of devices beyond even phones.

Love that because Apple's implementation of "Files" is awful (basically just an app that can hold files within itself and other apps have to talk to that app and that app's contents do NOT appear over a USB connection) VLC basically implemented the same thing within itself. In the iOS VLC app you can straight up spin up and entire file server where you type your phone's IP into your web browser and get a VLC branded landing page where you can drag things in and out of VLC's library.
