choosing to rewatch Fargo Season 1 Episode 1 with my nice Samson headphones on was a bad idea because man this TV show from 2014 has an obscene sound mix in the very quiet bits you normally lose watching through, like, crappy TV speakers or phones. Every scene is underscored by, like, ConstructionSite.mp3 or HospitalMachines.wav or TVnews.m4a it's very distracting. I got to the scene where Martin Freeman's brother is "working" a slab of raw ham in a very uncomfortable manner with his bare hands covered in butter, so it's now hard to pay attention to any dialogue because crystal clear squish.wav and squelch.wav is playing on a loop quietly underneath the whole scene.
either that or i'm obscenely high right now good night
