Right, I'm too lazy to mess with the CSS to set up a Cohost poll, so people just yell at me in the comments: since I have to upgrade to a new phone soon, and I've set my mind on purchasing one of the current or upcoming flagship devices - having also committed myself to paying for whatever monthly insurance plans are offered - which should I spring for, realistically: the Samsung Galaxy S24+, S24 Ultra, or the Google Pixel 8 Pro?
I'm used to Samsung's software and how it seems to duplicate every Google utility and bloat the software unnecessarily, it would be refreshing to get the clean and unified Pixel experience. But I've also heard that Google's hardware is not as reliable as Samsung's, and further that while Samsung's software is more bloated, Google's is actually usually buggier. The reports I've read might be overblown edge cases, but it seems Pixels are always developing overheating or battery drain issues. I don't particularly care which SOC is more powerful in benchmarks or shit like that, but I do care if Google's SOC is less efficient, runs hotter, and drains fhe battery faster. I've also heard that after just one or two years of updates, Pixels can feel sluggish. Again, this might be overblown to some extent, I dunno - but I'm sure even that would top my current LG G7 experience where I can expect to wait like 8 seconds to check my emails or bank account.
