Current Hyperfixation: Wizard of Oz

  • He/Him

I use outdated technology just for fun, listen to crappy music, and watch a lot of horror movies. Expect posts about These Things. I talk a lot.

Check tags like Star Trek Archive and Media Piracy to find things I share for others.

I'm in a little over $5,000 of debt and at my current pay rate it'll probably take me a little over a year to pay it off assuming I don't end up adding to it - which I usually end up having to because so much of my paycheck goes towards payments, though ideally adding to it at a lower rate than I pay it off, meaning realistically it might take closer to two years to pay off. Hahahaha

A good chunk of it was the new smartphone I just had to buy.

Well I say "had to" and while yes a lot of my necessary apps on my old LG have said they'll stop working in like a month, and the battery on that phone is going down the shitter, I didn't need to buy an S24, but I've tried midrange phones and they all have minor quibbles and issues and nits that I do pick that make them infuriatingly intolerable to me, so really it was just The 'Tism that made me spend $1,500 on a new phone.

I'd been planning to get a top of the line phone for these reasons eventually for months now, but was at least hoping I could wait until one of my credit cards was fully paid off before taking that dive.
