i want cheaper star trek series, with more episodes, that reuse the same 5 sets constantly, where conflicts are resolved through debate, personal asides, and the occasional speech, and i'm not kidding
Okay but what if we punched each other a bunch in the garden of eden instead
the punching is a televisual metaphor for spirited discussion; it's just so subtle and nuanced that most of the audience won't appreciate it
But when they do write, "everybody" gets angry that they changed some beloved thing that those people literally only just learned about by reading the wiki, and then the show somehow needs to spend a dozen episodes back-pedaling to assure everyone that the series won't have any effect on the franchise at all...
Those people are already mad and I don't give a shit about them
